The Avengers '66 Set 1 - Peel-tastic

As an individual who stumbled upon the adventures of Mrs. Peel and Mr. Steed on the A&E network in the mid-90's, I was delighted to finally obtain a copy of The Avengers '66 Set 1. Steed and Peel combine to form an almost unstoppable team in the season which really meshes their unique dynamic.

John Steed is a British agent working for an undisclosed department which participates in stopping threats to Britain. Mrs. Emma Peel is a 'talented amateur', a woman who is equally comfortable discussing thermodynamics as she is delivering a vicious karate chop to the neck of an assailant.

This set contains a nice mix of science fiction styled episodes and counter-espionage stories to satisfy any Avengers fan. These sets have become difficult to find since they went out of print over a year ago. The savvy eBayer can find one if they have patience.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Great 60s British TV Show

Avengers 66 (vol. 1) is just one volume in the DVD collection of "The Avengers", the great (in my opinion) British TV show from the 1960s. The complete set is usually available somewhere on eBay at any given moment as are individual volumes (by year, usually 2 volumes per year) Avengers 66 is obviously one of the "Mrs. Peel" sets and is much sought after as a collectable in its own right as are the other Diana Rigg sets from the full collection. The compete "Mrs. Peel" collection, on the other hand, has all 51 episodes she appeared in but doesn't have the unique artwork of the separate year volumes. Love the Series well worth the watch.

This is an awesome series with Patrick MacNee and Diana Rigg. Hard to find classic. Spy series with comedy relief, suspense, Sci-Fi. And all around good fun. I would recommend this series to anyone. Avengers, The - The '66 Collection: Set 1 DVD

Great Classic British Spy Television Show, that includes light comedy. Steed the cultured British gentleman and Peele the intelligent, strong, sexy spy are fun to watch. I rate the DVD as excellent.
