This book written by Dr.Carrie Nugent gives a great insight into the "nuts and bolts" work of asteroid hunters across the planet, as they work to track and plot the orbits of these many many potentially hazardous objects. You will discover why the asteroid that entered the atmosphere and exploded above Chelyabinsk was not detected beforehand, and some of the potential strategies for dealing with these objects ( one that 65million years ago caused the extinction of the dinosaurs ).
