These mantels come in little plastic cases that ensure you receive unbroken. correctly formed mantels. The little plastic cases are also easy to store, if you like to keep a few stockpiled. Solid protective packaging
Though more expensive than tie-yourself or even pre-tied mantles, the shipping method (in small cylinders) allows very easy installation and prevents damage during shipping or handling. Great replacement hard mantle for Primus Backpacking Lantern
These work with the old Primus 2220 mini backpacking lanterns that take a hard mantle. They work well and allow us to continue using our lanterns. Quality Product
I had been using soft mantles in our gas light, and they just did not last. We can have winds up to 50 mph in our area, and the vibration on the light would destroy the mantles. These mantles were installed two weeks ago, and just survived a major wind incident perfectly. The also are easier to install and pre-burn. Mantles provide as much light as the larger soft mantles. wish they would have told me about buying new tips when i bought these. they did not work to well with old tips now i broke them trying to change
