I have a few readers and a kindle keyboard was the first I had. When it finally died recently I realised I missed it over and above the newer styles as the old faithful with long battery life, good memory size and ease of adding content. It's not for browsing the internet, watching video or playing apps I can do that on the iPad mini or kindle fire. " A gem of a Tablet!"

It is a tablet of long standing and has proved its worth. Its big brother is of the same parts however it also has 3 G which gives it the edge but that does not detract from the quality or the value of this model!

There are so many features that are included for example the brightness, to the adjustment of the size of print to suit your taste it is all in all a most suitable tablet to suit all tastes. Super easy to use and easy to read off of

works exactly as it should although it was a pain to register it and had to use the webchat for it to work correctly. Battery last well and nice and clear screen. Book-sized, quality ereader that's stood the Test of Time!

Early kindle but very well-made and easily serviced. Its thickness means screws are used where later thinner models are just stuck together with gunge. Good Purchase

Bought this as a present for my wife, she had this version of the kindle originally but when it died after many years of use she purchased one of the newer touch screen kindles. She really hasn't taken to it and is always harking back to how good the original one was. She loves this one, although refurbished it arrived looking like new and works just as well as she remembers the original one working. Amazon Kindle Keyboard or Fire Tablet?

At about the same price, should 1 get this or 7" Amazon Fire?
This 1 can use dictionary properly, not needs to be charged as often, doesn't hyphenate words at end of line, read in sunshine, copy part of book & type notes (this can be done with app. on PC). Fire can do many other things, the chose = yours.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Keyboard is king.

Had to buy this version second-hand (Amazon no longer produce it) to replace my long-serving original model, now battery-dead. I quite like the new touchscreen Paperwhite version but I missed my dear old keyboard model. worth it

I like this old type kindle you can put music on it, had one for years squashed it on holiday so bought this one. Its very good. Better screen than the brand new models

Bought the £80 brand new model from Amazon but the screen wasn't as good as my old keyboard version, plus new books didn't show up in the library, so very unimpressed I sent it back and ordered this keyboard model. So much better than the new ones!Vollständige Rezension lesen

Better than Newer models

It's better than the newer models because you can do it with buttons instead of just having to swipe your finger anywhere on a blank screen and then find what you want.

I like my books in fileslike easy read, comedy, serious etc. and I find it easier after reading a book to place it in the correct folder, like save read &liked, or awaiting next book etc. or even get rid of it from my kindle. I am not really sure how you would do this with the newer ones, as I could not work it out, so sent it back and bought a couple of older models with keyboards.

As well with the keyboard model you get free wi-fi (which I only use to download my books) when on holiday, as I don't have access to internet on holiday.Vollständige Rezension lesen
