AmScope SM-3B Professional Binocular Stereo Zoom Microscope

Happy microscope

I got this microscope to work on hobby projects, like electronics. This is very similar to microscopes I use at work, and it compares favorably to more expensive brand names, in just letting me do simple work. I have no way to measure any optical performance parameters, but it works like what I am used to.

The working distance is very short, particularly with the LED illuminator installed, about 3 inches. I added a 0.5x optical reducer, and it doubled the working distance as expected. An inexpensive 48 mm, lens worked perfectly. If you are short you might prefer a 0.75x, the 0.5x raised the eye piece to a very comfortable height for me, but I an over 6 feet tall. Also since I mostly use very little magnification, the lose of magnification is not a issue for me.

The stand is very solid and stays in place. It is better that I expected from the photos, very easy to use.

Overall I am very happy and would buy it again as well as recommend it to others for this kind of work.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Marvelous miicroscopes, used daily.

Have two now of the same microscopes, like the dual stands better. Use both of them daily, for different applications

This will work great for watch repair.
