ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX, AM3+, AMD Motherboard

Best of the best!

I am a computer Tech, and thanks to the military I have 40 years experience. And when I go to purchase hardware I do a lot of research on the item. Then I research another, if it does not beat the first, then I look at the next one, I repeat this till there really is no choice left. The Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 is the one that can't be beat. I have bought these before, and with their age starting to show, you may think there are newer better boards out there. There are pretty boards with lights, but lights will not make your computer run better. The Asus ROG is prettier, but the board is more expensive, and at least as old a design as this motherboard.
The board is strong, so if you end up with a AMD 9590 processor at 220 watts this board will handle it. The Asus Suite software is useful for temp monitoring the board. The Ceramic "Military" coating works, and basically the board is bullet proof. The features of this board keep it a solid performer so much that Asus stills sell this board new.
I have owned a couple of these boards, and for custom builds, this is one board that you have nothing to ever worry about as the body of your build. As I said to start with Compared to the others for this socket, The 990FX R2.0 is still the best of the best.Vollständige Rezension lesen

great overclocking but old and slow

it got here as pictured and i installed it turned it on and black screen it didn't work that was worrying but then i noticed the lights stopped on graphics so i put a different GPU in and it works it has good overclocking features such as a huge VRM heat-sink and a painfully slow bios with all the right options and a weak SATA controller would i recommend it not for most people unless you really want to overclock a FX8/9xxx processor there is no good reason to buy such a old expensive motherboard with a slow bios but i do want to overclock those processors so i am pretty happy with itVollständige Rezension lesen

Works great now

At first I put my computer together and it didn't display anything, no beeps from the warning speaker. I wound up trying all the troubleshooting I could do. Nothing, then I randomly turned it on and the warning finally came on that my RAM was faulty.

Lightly used MB at a good price

Asus enough said

This is my second Asus mobo I have owned. While this was a used part and the up coming change to the amd mother boards are just around the corner for the AM4+ boards, this will serve my needs well at least for a couple years. More usb connectors than I need with both 2.0 and 3.0 ports. Also has more pci-e ports than I will ever use also. The bios is super easy to mess around on. ASUS SABERTOOTH R2.0 990FX, AM3+ Great product

It was what I was looking for, was able to upgrade my old motherboard and use my old processor and memory for the upgrade. I know some would think this is old school technology but for me it works well, since I'm not a gamer I wasn't looking for superfast just something that would last a few more years and be stable. Arrived intact and works great

For a motherboard that came without it's original packaging it was surprisingly intact
and works great too.
Been using it for several months now, no problems at all.

X99 amd mb

Excellent MB I have used three and will not go to the new CPU for a wile. it runs at a good speed with out any problems and I will buy an other one for a new build.

Asus Sabbertooth 990FX, Am3+

I had only one problem. The sound card would not work. I an a Linux user and no proper drivers found. I disabled the sound card in the bios and intalled a Sound blaster card. Every thing works just fine.Vollständige Rezension lesen

It Works

Bought it as a used item. Everything I needed to make it work I had or it was available on the web. Regarding it's performance and value, it is the 1st generation of that MB and works for my purposes just fine (Video & photo editing) no gaming.
