ARRIS SURFboard SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1 10 Gbps Cable Modem

Very decent upgrade and realized it totally justified.

Since the old modem had some hiccups so it’s good time for a better replacement, and this one is an easy decision. DOCSIS 3.1 and Xfinity Comcast

Arris SURFboard DOCSIS 3.1 - Modest improvement with mid-tier BLAST service from Xfinity. You have to have Xfinity upgrade your account to allow full use of the bandwidth. Previously I had the DOCSIS 3.0 model of Arris SURFBoard and it functioned nearly as fast as the 3.1. Good purchase

It was pretty easy to set up, and I'm happy that I don't have modem rental fees any longer. My one caution is that you cannot use the 2nd ethernet port with the Google Router mesh system.

A SurfBoard for a more modern wave of tech.

Smart-devices have made our lives more connected to technology, but often come at the expense of greater bandwidth usage. The previous iteration, the SB6190, based on the Intel Puma architecture, was plagued with loss of connectivity issues, requiring forced restarts to get all connected smart devices on the same page onc again. The SB8200, based on Broadcom architecture, is a refreshing departure from said connectivity issues, and offers gigabit speeds with ease, where the earlier model would only approach gigabit and rarely achieve it. Plus it's Docsis 3.1, so, hypothetically, speeds of ten gigabits/sec would be possible if your ISP had the infrastructure, whereas 3.0 pretty much topped out at a gigabit, so it's nice having some future-proofing. It's a rock solid and reliable modem; even when streaming 4k content or gaming online/multi-player, rest assured this modem is more than up to the task.

I've owned the SB6121, SB6141, SB6183, and SB6190 over the years...do yourself a favor and just get the SB8200, anything below that just won't keep up with the new wave of modern tech.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Xfinity Randomly Disconnects SERVICE at Location - Demand Previous Owner To Permit Use of MAC ID.

Comcast XFinity demands I contact previous owner to get their PERMISSION to disassociate their account from this MAC ID.

OTHERWISE THEY'LL KEEP RANDOMLY DISCONNECTING MY SERVICE!!!!!!!

Wicked fast easy to set up very simple unit light is very bright though they need a switch for the lights for night time. Mine has the AX73 router connected to it running at 500d 50u.

Lightning speeds with ARRIS 32 X 8 Surfboard Modem

Replaced an ISP modem with the ARRIS Surfboard 32 X 8 3.1 Cable modem, and my internet access, and my internet speeds are vastly improved. This is THE modem!
