APC is one of the best power strip surge suppressor units I've ever had, use them for all your high end electronics for protection. I live in a rural area and we have frequent power issues including back up generators for our homes, if/when main power goes down there's a big kick and when the generator comes on there's another one, outlets like these protect your sensitive equipment from all that. TV's, Modem's, Wifi and Hifi equipment stays safe. Like any power strip try not to overload them as the circuit breaker on the strip can get weaker with continual overloads, that means it's slowly burning it up.
