9-Patch Pizzazz by Judy Sisneros (2006)

Got this because my quilting group is working with the 9-patch design. Decided it would be a good idea to have the 'text' in hand to facilitate comprehension of this block and how it is used.

This is one great book. I tend to think of the 9-Patch as a pillow cover or, when extended, a table runner. As a strip quilter, working with this pattern required a stretch. No matter how my look initially, at least I will always have the diagram(s) for my ideas.

There's really nothing to dislike. It's well-conceived, well-written and provides more than adequate instruction and diagrams to guide the fledgling quilter, i.e., ME, through the learning process. Interesting to see how exciting, fun, dramatic a so-called basic block can be, particularly when everything is in the 'stack 'n' whack' step. Fabric, fabric everywhere, and nary a break in sight.

Critters Dancing in the Moonlight

I love this book. I needed an alligator applique for a quilt and this one suited me but so did the other animals. It has great designs, can easily be enlarged and made into blocks. I haven't made the whole quilt but love the animals! Some people are afraid of too many pieces, but this book has simple designs with simple instructions.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

9-Patch quilts with pizzazz for all quilters

This purchase was a replacement as I've worn out my first book. The title says it all. What could be easier that stitching up 9-Patches, even for the beginner quilter? More experienced quilters can turn these patterns into art quilts. Great fun, and yes, fast. This book didn't turn out to be what I had hoped for. At the same time it is very well done, has wonderful instructions and photographs. This is how quilt books should be done!
