DVD player well, but packaging was beat up. DVD appeared used instead of new. Not what I expected for a brand new DVD.

Excellent War Movie

This movie is very realistic and very well made. It uses innovative camera techniques for following the movement of the characters.
The sound track is excellent as well.

I am ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE with this movie!!!!

I saw this movie in theaters with my father and I was in love with it, it keeps your attention from beginning to end with its pacing and action and I just knew that I had to get this on DVD. And, of course, I did and I was so happy to have done that and THEN the movie came out on 4K UHD & Blu-Ray, so, of course, I'm gonna get that, too! I don't even have a 4K DVD player or TV but I'm getting this movie anyway because now I'm going to get those eventually, too, and I'm looking forward to it. Don't get me wrong, it's a very "good" movie. But if you are looking for action packed big battles...this is not it. Actually, it's quite boring. But the storyline is very good. I prefer Saving Private Ryan type movies with great battle scenes...but it is a good story.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Entertaining and suspenseful

1917 is the same kind of different as Dunkirk. Great movie with a great story line. If you liked Dunkirk you will enjoy this movie as well. They are similar movies but different. Highly recommended.

Great story

This is a a movie worth watching more than once. A story worth knowing in a time mostly forgotten that should be remembered for it’s been repeated and seems to be trying to cycle again.

Great War film

Griping film of heroism and tenacity as the characters journey through hell. Of course a plot hole big enough to drive a truck through is why the command didn’t send the vital message by motorcycle courier behind the lines or simply drop it from an airplane? A trip across no man’s land would seem to almost guarantee failure.

"1917" is one very incredible film. Director Sam Mendes, cinematographer Roger Deakins and the entire cast and crew produced a war film for the ages!
