I found this a well thought out book covering many DIY tips, paint colour combinations, room structures, window treatments, wall paper hanging, plus great pics to get you motivated.
My introduction to this lady was in buying one of her flocked table lamps with a bright orange shade, it was a feast for the eye.You don't need to rush out and buy lots of new furniture you can up cycle the stuff you have for the cost of a pot of paint ( i think you can also buy flock spray paint. )
