Top Gun Maverick =Top video.
A great follow up to the original.....for any aviation nut a must see and I suspect great entertainment for everyone else.

Maverick Top Gun two.
Brilliant film, the best sequel ever, Tom Cruise amazing actor Maverick wow! Would recommend this film to anyone. What more can I say! Just amazing!!

Superb action film, with the best plane dogfights ever filmed. Back at base, good direction and Cruise's charm create a warm atmosphere. Great finale.
This was far and away the best mainstream film released in 2022. In a modern imax cinema it was a full, awesome, five-star-experience, with a 25 ft screen, and bass speakers so loud they made your internal organs shake when planes took off. Inevitably, much of this immersive experience is lost with a DVD, unless your home audio-visual system emulates an imax!
It is not essential to have watched the original, 1980s Topgun, but it does greatly deepen the experience, especially the back story with Goose's son and the scenes with senior Admiral `Iceman' Val Kilmer.
Cruise is aging test-pilot `Maverick' for the US Navy, with one of the most distinguished combat records among active officers. Repeated insubordination and a love of pure flying have prevented his promotion above the rank of captain. However, whenever he does anything truly outrageous, his former comrade, Kilmer, pulls his chestnuts out of the fire.
The plot outline is that Cruise is called in to head up a team of recent Topgun gaduatess, all champions of their particular year at the military dogfighting school. Their mission is to destroy a new nuclear facility in enemy territory. Because of the automatic, radar-activated anti-aircraft batteries, the team must fly very low through canyons, and then climb steeply away from the target. It turns out that an older plane is best suited to this task, which suits Cruise down to the ground.
Far more than the first Topgun, this film emphasises ACTION. All of the dogfighting scenes are realistic and riveting, if not as visceral as in a cinema. Away from the plane fights, the romance this time is lower key, and more mature. Most of the stupid games and teasing is done by the young team, though Cruise still shows more than a few signs that his character has never truly grown up. Nonetheless, these silly scenes do create a feelgood mood, and a sense of team-bonding. This is cemented by a shirtless game of American beach football, in a nod to the famous homoerotic volleyball scene in the original film. It has to be said that for a man his age, Cruise's body is impressive.
The last hour of the film is particularly special. Cruise does something amazing in training, and then the team go on their mission, where the danger and the quality of the action ratchets up to another level. Without spoiling the plot too much, the finale is tremendous, and should not be missed.
Overall, this is about as good as an action film can get at home.

Top gun maverick ….very apt title

Definitely worth watching
Very good film , plenty of pace and action.
Story line is dated and seen many times with other films.
Photography and direction are excellent and the cast are all equally good.

Top Gun Maverick 5 star
This is one excellent film, usually the second film is not so good, but this is fantastic.
If you can have the volume of your television as high as you can , the sound track is absolutely amazing.

Better than I was expecting.
I am a fan of the first one Top Gun and thought this might not work very well, being so long after the original, but it was brilliant!
The flying scenes were real and the story line believable.

A good all round fun film !!
This is a great tongue in cheek film which is a great follow on from the previous Top Gun film .Very enterytaining with as you would expect some great flying sequences .

Tom at his best.

Feel the need for speed.
Fine sequel, if a little bit far fetched. The aerial sequences are better than the plot but that isn't an issue--these films are not about the script but the events.
