Great old fashioned entertainment - great musical - timeless

It could have been made yesterday as a historic musical it was so fresh - except you knew the actors were from another generation.
The dance sequences were fab and the scenes set well.

Really couldn't get int it

The quality of the video and the purchasing experience earned 5 stars

I only ordered it because my husband remembered seeing it years ago and thought he'd like to see it again. Unusual type of film for him so I ordered it to surprise him

Not my type of film (and it usually is. Even he struggled with it and when he could see me fidgeting he suggested he'd watch the rest himself but I notice he hasn't gone back to it)

Fun Fun Fun

Brilliant really loved it. Saw it at the theatre before buying the DVD and boy IT WAS WORTH IT..... LOVED IT

A happy-go-lucky gambling musical

A brilliant musical of amazing quality. Good storyline, energetic musical numbers, and two love stories that both have their own little twists to them. A truly brilliant film.

Money well spent

Legendary Hollywood producer Sam Goldwyn spent a million bucks on the rights to this story and another 5 million on the production - a vast sum back in 1955 - and it was money well spent. It's a lively story about gamblers and gals with such terrific numbers as Luck Be a Lady and Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat. Goldwyn had wanted Gene Kelly for the role of ace dice man Sky Masterson but had to settle for non-singer, non-dancer Marlon Brando - who does a wonderful job. Frank Sinatra, Jean Simmons and (especially)Vivian Blaine join in the fun. It's just a shame that the movie goes on for about half an hour too long. . .Vollständige Rezension lesen...

What can you say about a classic?
Excellent cast, music and choreography.
I still find it hard to believe that Marlon Brando is the lead when he is much better known for more straight roles. Having said that he is a great lead, alongside Frank Sinatra.

We had this on video but no longer have a video player. The extra features were well worth buying it for, truly fascinating showing the transition from stage to screen and explaining why some numbers were discarded and others were written for the film. Love it!Vollständige Rezension lesen...
