Towering Inferno

A list of "who's who" in this movie. Paul Newman has always been one of my favorite actors. Pair him up with Steve McQueen and you have two great leading characters. I saw this movie when it came out at the theaters way back when, then had the VHS version, followed by the dvd, and then the special edition dvd. I even have the book that the movie came from. There is romance, action, and drama, Each of the characters has some kind of story to tell, and you can't help but feel for each one of them. One character does not have the ending that I had hoped for, which was disappointing, but not everyone gets to live "happily ever after." It's a long movie, so get a BIG bowl of popcorn and enjoy!!

Burn, Burn Burn, Burrr...Burrrrrrr....Burn, Baby Burn!

The most memorable thing about this 165 minute film was Robert Wagner being trapped with his girlfriend after hours and romance. Wagner made one last final attempt to run for help, but was engulfed in flames as he ran towards the entrance. I guess that really puts things into perspective for many who live through some form of trauma. Burning in a fire happens to be my least favorite method of death, and I'm terrified now even more about buildings since 9/11.

The Towering Inferno was one of those films in 1974 that you had to see because it had so many stars in one billing. You rarely find that now since the Screen Actor's Guild demands such a high price for many of its actors and entertainers.

Steve McQueen and Paul Newman being in one film was spectacular. Of course you had Richard Chamberlain, Susan Blakely, Faye Dunaway, Fred Astaire, and O.J. Simpson.

I'll give this film a 5/5 for its magnificent attempt to scare you to death. You really start feeling for all those rich people and those that were only there trying to do their job.

Movies that Bring Back Memories

One of my favorite great movies, it has every aspect a movie can have, drama, suspense, action, shock, love, adultery, greed, and deceit, and I like seeing Steve Mcqueen, Paul Newman, Fay Dunaway, Robert Wagoner, Richard Chamberlain, William Holden, Susan Blakely, Susan Flannery, Dabney Coleman, and many other famous faces, in addition the clothes and hair, just bring back so many great memories. Glass inferno

This movie plays on our fear of height and fire. Imagine a building made of glass that is supposed to be fireproof. It is also the world's tallest building and it is open but not all systems are working correctly. The buildings electrical system is full of questionable wire. Well the opening party is at the top of the building and you guessed it a fire starts in the middle of the building. It is a roller coaster ride for all. A never aging movie.

This is one of the best movies ever made. If you like watching the masters in action watch this movie. They remade this movie and its only got better. Do yourself a favor and buy this movie it's worth every penny

Awesome cast line up for awesome movie

awesome movie. very realistic well portrayed by all actors and actresses. they made their characters come to life exceptional scenes very graphic in the details of what a fire is all about

Classic disaster movie!

The Towering Inferno is an excellent classic - you'll see a superstar cast, lots of action - great plot, great characters! Who doesn't love a disaster movie?
