Out of 22 songs, just three twirled my turban. I bought the c.d. for LOVE ME A LITTLE, a representative big band number. Artie Shaw typically allowed this canary (at the time) one stanza and one chorus, but that`s all she needed to show her quick patter skill, clear attack, just enough dulcet verve to solicit a credible love interest.YOU`RE MY THRILL (sincere tremelo, nice pitch) and I GOTTA RICHT TO SING THE BLUES were also believeable heart twisters. The rest of the album consisted of flippant underwrought appeals or belting that left me unimpressed for the money. I loved dilly Holiday then came Ella Fitzgerald now it's Lena Horne. She is a wonderful artist and this C. D. is really a definitive C. D. of her work.
