Classic Kit, Fun and Easy to Build.

Monogram Kit from 1986, Molded in Red Plastic with Chrome Parts and Clear along with Scale Goodyear Eagle Racing Slicks, Decals are also included to Build the #25 Car that was Driven by Tim Richmond, full and easy to understand instructions are also included. This Kit is easy to build but does have a few quirks which would make it a bit of a challenge for Younger or Inexperienced Builders. Paint, Glues (of varying types), Masking Tape and Putties will be needed for the completion of the Kit. Given it's age though, not a lot of Putty will be needed, a testament to how well it was made by Monogram. The Decals are very good also despite their Age and go on without the need of any solvents, however, some might consider their use for the Decals on the Rear Fenders to help them settle. The Instructions are very well detailed and not difficult to understand, Paint Colours are explained with small Letters signifying which Colour is used and where, but, Experienced Builders can opt to build their Car with a little more Detail. There are Chrome Parts but, again Experienced Builders will find it's more accurate to remove (strip) the Chrome and Paint certain Parts in Metalizer Paints. The Car shown on the Box has Chrome Wheels, but, Tim never Drove any Car with them - the wheels were Black. The Fit is good but some warping is expected on the Chassis Pan and Cage, boiling Water will be needed to help fix the Warps - an easy Job to do. The Body is perfectly executed by Monogram and only needs minimal Cleanup. The Clear Parts are very nice as well but, if loose in the Bag a good check for scratches will be needed - repairing the Clear Parts can be a little time consuming, but, there are plenty of Tips on how to do this. The rest of the Kit will need a fair amount of Cleanup, sanding etc, but, that doesn't take very long to do. CA Glues (Super) and some Liquids are considered ideal for Construction - CAs for major Assemblies like Suspension and the Cage, scraping Paint off Parts to be Glued is always preferred. Spray Paints can be used to Paint the Entire Car or select Parts. Airbrushing can also be done to speed up the Build. In case there are any issues with the Decals, there are plenty of sites that offer After Market ones. Do I recommend this Kit?, absolutely!, it's a Good, Fun build and once you've built one, any others are easier as you go along. Once completed, the Kit makes for a very good Scale example of a Famous Race Car.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Tim richmond monte carlo

These old stock car kits are well designed and go together great. Only complaint i have it the windshield fitment on these monte carlo aerocoupe kits. The windshields are a little too flat and as soon as you try to bend it at all they break in halfVollständige Rezension lesen
