You need this mount if you have one of the Sony projectors it's designed for.

The "universal" ceiling mount I purchased first might work for projectors with mounting points above the center of gravity, but t Sony VPL-PHZ10 has offset mounting points that were too far apart to use the universal mount, and the uneven weight distribution cause the projector to tilt unless all adjustments were tightened to the point of almost breaking.
