Yuri is wonderful
This is one of my top three favorite Japanese animations. It's the series I show people who I'm introducing to anime, with the warning that there's romantic chemistry between two males, even though there are absolutely no sexual shenanigans going on, just a sweet little kiss. Anyway, all the characters are distinct from and complement each other very well. Perhaps my favorite character is Yurio, a cute little blonde skater who is grumpy and angry pretty much all the time, but he adds a nice edge to the show. The first four episodes are my favorite, where the development of the characters relationships happen, and then the later eps seem devoted mainly to the skating. I am stunned by the beauty and elegance of some of the performances, but some of the eps get weighed down in all the skating performances by different characters that I don't really care about. I do hoot and holler though and yell at the screen when skating mistakes are made or when it's done perfectly, especially by Yuri. I'm always rooting for Yuri to win. It had me at the edge of my seat. A fun anime that draws you in and creates a world to get lost in. I highly recommend it.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Makes one think about classes in society
Really an excellent film but not quite 5 stars for me. Interesting. Worth watching. Subtitles in English. Acting is believable and well done, the camera work, lighting, sets, scenes are very good. Moves quickly and was never bored.Vollständige Rezension lesen
