Starter does not work with L100.
Maybe it might work on other JDs but not on an older L100. Was fine at first, then after a week the gear on the starter broke in half. Replaced that gear with the one from the original starter. It worked for a few days and then the gears from the starter and the engine would not mesh correctly. Had to keep taking the cowl off and manually twist the gear on the starter for it to go back into position.
Went to a JD dealer and they said that the gear and the starter was not correct for the engine. So now I am waiting for the correct starter to come from JD and have my tractor sitting idle again, plus the added time to take it apart and install the new starter. Not what I would call a good value.

Starter works great.
This starter worked great for my Craftsman yard tractor. It fit perfectly and was easy to install. I would buy it again if the need arose.

Works as intended
Starter works great on my lawn tractor. Is much noisier than original. I have found the same of other "import" starters. Unsure why but it still works.

light weight worked fine
works fine was suprised that there is no place to oil up the lower bushing .it would be nice if there was a phone number if you have questions or if it didnt work

Looks and works like it is supposed to.
Got this starter at a great price bolted it on and went to mowing. Don't know how it will hold up long term, but it sure works good now.
