I have installed this kit with an additional 1m extension. It is very bright and the hue comes with a very easy to use app/software.
I have recently just brought another light strip light to install elsewhere at home. It has so much potential.
I find the following YouTube video rather helpful for a beginner’s overview of the hue products. What is needed to start upgrade your home with smart lightings.

These Lightstrips look great when mounted on the uderside of shelves in my lounge.
As with all Philips Hue products they are easy to set up too.
So far as Value is concerned, that's another story... you're paying for flexibility, quality and ease of use - all worth paying extra for in my opinion. Whether they are worth paying this much extra is a matter of personal judgement. For me, I would always pay extra for the best and these are the best :)

If your looking for a smart Lightstrip would highly recommend, especially with software capabilities of Hue Sync.
