Excellent GPS system representing good value for money.

This was a direct erplacemnt for a model I broke. It's excellent value and easy to use. A downside is that when the battery life begins to wane it cannot be replaced easily - needs the machine dismantling.
The screen size is just fine though the larger screens fitted as orignal equipment to new cars are obvioulsy better. I find the maps have to be used with a certain amount of commonsense and general awareness, so for instance the one way systems in London are less than 100% accurate and on one occasion "trapped" me into entering the Congestion Zone when I did not want to.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Easy to get started

Quite an upgrade from my previous TomTom, lot of nice new features. Easy to get started with although downside of that is that there don't seem to be as many settings available.
Have been trying the voice activation although finding I need to adapt my Irish accent but I suspect I will learn how to use this through trial and error. Very nice product though.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Great Versatile Product, Great Value

Easy to use, Great value for product features. Maps can be difficult to download from Tom Tom Web site and error messages from Tom Tom appear. You must make sure you have up to date software from Tom Tom installed on your computer at all times. Great Display in the car and choice of voices are fun. TomTom GO 510 Automotive GPS Receiver

I have been using the 510 now for 3 years and I have found it to be a great companion when traveling not only in the UK but across Europe as well. The only downside to it is the traffic arial attachment which seems to go on the blink at the drop of a hat! Easy to use and the on screen navigation is really good. I have seen other makes and they do not come close to Tom Tom. Up grades for maps online is easy but if you do come across a snag the support either online or phone is good. The Curate's Egg

Traffic information is quick and accurate. Screen display clear in informative but when not using it it for a route the display is always 'North Up' and I would prefer it to always point in the direction of travel. Still the best

Yes, I can use my iPhone, and I have used a Garmin, but overall, the TomTom is still great and this one, the 510 is a really good unit.

One slight downside, the speech recognition is really quite poor, but as I never use that, its not really an issue.

The mount and charging is much improved over old models and the screen, maps, speed camera tracking, are all great - used over 1000 miles in France and it was great there too.

old but good!

I bought this satnav as a gift for my father, who had his stolen.(same model) If Im honest its a bit big and bulky for me and the styling is 'old' but my dad loves it and it does everything he wants a satnav to do. I use a tom tom too and find they are the most intuitive (although not always correct) of all the models I have tried. (garmin, sony, becker and even terrafix!) very precise,and clear,the only thing that annoys me is that when my phone trasfers on bluetooth through the sat nav,i can barely hear anything?also a couple of times have had to press the re-set to start the sat nav up,i,ve found that unlike a lot of systems this one stays intavt on my screen.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

I found it very good and easy to use.
Some of the features I do not use as it is not used every week.
A good standby to have.

I bought it because i wanted a sat nav and these old type ones are a lot stronger and take more stick than the new modern ones.
