Great upgrade

I had an om5, bit long in the tooth and thought may as well try the 10 seeing as the price from Thakker was so good. Boy was it worth it. What an upgrade. First record I played was Bowie, Ziggy Stardust album which I've been listening to for 30 something years and couldn't believe it. Stereo separation amazing, separation between instruments clearly improved and defined. Clarity of vocals and upper mid amazing, never heard Bowie's12 string so defined and this is an original RCA mix so not one of remastered reissues. Less surface crackles and pops with older records. Bass is tight and controlled, a little light at the moment but the stylus is new so that will improve with use as it runs in. Can't wait, when it hits that sweet spot it's going to sing. Can't recommend enough if you have an OM5 or less then get one of these 10s. I kid ye not its like getting a new record collection. Well worth it.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

high quality and amazing value

works and sounds better than I thought it would ,used with the super OM cartridge it seems as good as far more expensive set ups .no cons just high quality and amazing value

Startling improvement!

Replacement for standard Ortofon 10. Startling difference. Maybe my old stylus was a little worn - or it performs better - who knows but very happy with outcome.

Performance beyond its price

I think you-all already know how I might describe the performance of this stylus.
If you have an OM cartridge with perhaps a '5' or '5E' stylus, then replace it with this one, and if your record player is up to it; this stylus will blow you away. I have a Rega RP1 + Audiolab 8000a + QUAD 306 + KEF speakers. The performers and music is in the room! I kid you not! Absolutely brilliant!

Bought to replace 5e

Bought this to try and upgrade the sound on my project debut 2. Definitely worth it. More bass, more depth and clearer sound. Turntable now sounds more grown up.

OM10 replacement stylus.

This is a replacement for my original OM10 stylus that was damaged by someone nameless cleaning my (our) turntable, in spite of the protector being in place as well!
I works beautifully!
