Not the color I was hoping to achieve
Stains are never what you want. Even though the color is correct, trying to match existing woodwork stained with the exact color is impossible as wood darkens with age. Even after trying a second coat I was not able to achieve the darkness required. I had to use Poly Shades over the stained work in order to darken to my liking. Just more steps than I wanted to do.
