Great value tool
I bought this sander particularly for some sliding sash window restoration and it has proved to be a very good buy. It is very solidly built, however this means it is quite heavy and makes it impossible for my wife to use on vertical surfaces, although I have no problem with it. The filter really does work surprisingly well, collection much of the dust generated. The motor is more than powerful enough, and heats up little even with extended use. My one gripe is the long front handle, which prevents the tool being used right into corners, leaving about 75mm unsanded which has to be finished off by other means. Apart from this I can recommend the tool most highly, and its performance is further enhanced by using quality belts. Cheap belts just don't cut it. Literally!Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Good - but with issues!
This is a good, no nonsense belt sander. It works very well with a self-centering belt which can move a tremendous amount of material. It has, to my mind, two problems.
The first (and lesser problem) is the fact that you cannot buy an inversion stand for the sander to make it a bench sander (although you can for its bigger brother, from the Professional range). The second, and greater, problem is the small, bent tube which attaches the dust collector cassette to the sander. You cannot buy spares of these.
I have tried both Bosch and power tool spares specialists (here in the UK and further abroad). They are not available. I lost my connector and when I used the sander without it I was covered in dust in about 3 seconds. This might sound rather amusing but the attendant damage to lungs could be significant. Apart from the belts themselves there are only two parts which attach to the sander and one of them is not available. It's madness.
If you have lungs of steel and don't mind being absolutely covered in dust this is a very useful piece of kit.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Great sander
I bought this primarily to sand pallets and it does a great job. I've hooked it up to a bench stand and a vacuum cleaner to make it even easier to use. It just feels like a well built piece of kit. I used it for about an hour non stop and it was fine. Very easy to change belts. I would recommend wearing ear defenders when using it. Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Powerful and money saving
My husband says it is powerful but very swift. He has already managed to sand down someones oak dining table which had been varnished. Now polishing with beaswax. Brilliant!! Given the table a fantastic new life....Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Too heavy.
This belt sander is the replacement for the PBS 60. As a replacement it is too heavy, has too much power, and the dust filter is nearly useless. Bosch do not product a dust bag that fits this machine.

Brilliant Sander
This is a fantastic little belt sander, it is easy to use, changing the sanding belt has never been so easy & it self aligns easy enough as long as you remember to use it in the air just after changing the belt this is so it can align before you use it on your work piece ;)

Good but let down by filter position
Ok, maybe it’s me? But has anyone else who is right-handed noticed that upon handling this Bosch sander the view of where you want to sand is partially blocked because of where the built-in dust filter is located? Maybe it’s because l am right-handed, l have a tendency to want to operate this sander from right to left, but this means my view of what l am trying to sand is being severely restricted because the darned attached filter is in the way! Ok, l know the said filter can be rotated to give a better view of what you are actually sanding, but it doesn’t completely solve the problem, it’s always in the way to some degree. Great sander, comes with a rubbish belt but good bit of kit
Great sander, comes with inferior belt though. Ordered some silverline belts which seem excellent and got the job done. The belt it came with was shredded within minutes. Other than that, fantastic sander highly recommend it. Make sure you look up how to track it to get a nice smooth finish if you don't already know how.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

The front handle can be removed
The machine is great for jobs on the bench but it is awkward on door frames, stairs and corners. The front handle does remove which is helpful but this is where the machine can be improved. I’m impressed by the dust collection system it keeps clean up quick and easy.Vollständige Rezension lesen...

It`s a good bit of kit
Yes I like this belt sander, I can turn it upside down on my work mate and use it as a table sander which makes it more versatile. didn't realise I bought the fix speed one, only hiccup I found is the filter box keeps falling off which is a bloody nuisance. Vollständige Rezension lesen...
