Superb value and quality
I bought the vanson 57 Alnico II pickups to replace the epiphone ones in my les paul. What a difference they made both in sound and appearance! Now my les paul studio sounds and looks awesome. The neck pickup gives a creamy tone and the bridge transforms the guitar into the strat world with loads of variations in between. The original epiphone bridge pickup was horrible and brittle sounding. This guitar is now wonderful to play. The cream and gold pickups along with cream coloured pick plate and other accessories has transformed a boring all black lp studio into a classy tuxedo black beauty with very little money. The quality of the vanson pickups is impressive given how little they cost. I highly recommend anyone considering pickup upgrades to try these. They can also be wired to switch between humbuckers or single coil ie 4-wire and come with full wiring instructions. Piece of cake to swap them in. Highly impressed. Great value pickups
I bought a set of these after doing some research to upgrade a friend's old Maison Les Paul copy. They are great pickups for £30 a set. Clean, both neck and bridge are clear and crisp. Not muddy at all so if you want really fat cleans they may not be to your taste, but for classic rock and punk these distort beautifully. Plenty of wet mid-range crunch and clear as a bell for leads. They replaced a set of Seymour Duncan P90s and the Vansons are louder and fatter without sacrificing any of the clarity and punch. Vanson '57 Alnico II on Jack&danny guitar
I got these nearly 10 years old not particularly good Jack&Danny guitar. One of the pickups was long gone so I did not use the guitar much. I have never substituted pickups before so I wasn't sure how it would go and didn't want to expend too much. Bought these ones and the guitar sounds pretty good actually, better than before. They are not EMG pickups of course but for the price I believe they are very good and would buy them again no doubts. They came well packed with mounting instructions for the wiring.
