Good brush, could be made a little better
While the picture accompanying the product shows the brush being put through the drain hole, I decided to take off the trap under the sink and use it that way. I have a plunger type drain stop, which is attached to the drain, so I would have had a tough time getting the brush past the end of the drain stop. I was afraid that if I used it as shown, I would just push the gunk down the drain, and not really clean the actual pipe that well. After taking off the trap, I was able to pull out the gunk, into a bucket that I had under the drain, and get a more thorough cleaning. Since the brush was designed to go through the drain, it has soft pliable bristles. I found that using it through the trap, it would have been better if the bristles were a little stiffer. It seems to be constructed well, and the handle and brush were attached firmly. I was expecting to throw it away after one use, but even after vigorously cleaning the drain pipe, it cleaned up and should be usable again. If you plan to clean the sink drain, I would strongly advise taking off the trap, and pulling the gunk out, rather than pushing it further into your plumbing. Good drain brush!!
This drain brush does the trick and it wont damage the porcelain because it has plastic cobering the metal cord.
