Not A Compete Thesaurus
This thesaurus is pretentious and it is not what I expected. For fiction writers or those who really want to rearrange the way they automatically think, write, talk, perhaps they'd like it as an impressive way to rearrange words etc. But the few times I reached to find a synonym the word I had in mind wasn’t listed at all. So it is an incomplete thesaurus that is more focused on making an impression than not. The idea when I bought this book was convenience, having a thesaurus on hand for a quickly found substitute word, a synonym to add variety in a paragraph when I’m writing away from the computer. Also, his examples of famous writers, speakers overly praised Obama, and frankly it never occurred to my observation that was one of his outstanding assets. It seemed there may have been an agreement between the author and Obama that his name and talents could compare more favorably with so many others in the world. Even though, I was always impressed with Obama's persona, his personality. Please don't confuse my critique here with anything deeper than my personal experience of The Well-Spoken Thesaurus:The Most Powerful Ways to Say Everyday Book. Frankly, it did not convey to me any thing most powerfully useful with respect to communication other than as a disappointment.Vollständige Rezension lesen
