Beautiful love story
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich I fell in love with this movie the very first time I saw it,it is a classic love story. The main theme is how Dracula came about, the movie sorts through myth and fact,and tells of a beautiful love story.How this man turned to beast because the love of his life is killed while he is off fighting for his faith (church).He comes back to find his love (wife),has killed herself upon hearing news of her husbands death. The church refuses to give her absolution to enter into Heaven, since she took her life They tell him she is damned.He becames so enraged he renounces his faith and becomes a monster the church fears.He swears to avenge his loves death, "with all the powers of darkness".He loves this woman so much that his love survives his transformation into a vampire and through centuries of time, to find her and make her his again. The Count and Mina,(Dracula's beloved) has a brief peaceful interlude before fate steps in again.But this love story has yet another cruel twist of fate. The people surrounding his love is set on killing him.They use her as bait to get to him.At his home in Transylvania, the hunters find him and fatally wound him and his beloved has to finish him off,but in doing so she releases them both from the powers of darkness.
