Just What I Needed for Event Shooting
The lens arrived a few days before I had to photograph several events, and I was able to confirm that all was well with focusing speed and accuracy as well as image sharpness. There were no signs of fungus or debris on any of the lens elements, and the body of the lens was free of scuffs. My only concern is, of course, the weight, but that is a given with this type of lens. Overall, it was in the Exc- condition advertised—well-cared for, and carefully-packaged in several layers of bubble wrap.
Considering the current version 2 of this lens only offers minor improvements in reducing vibration, I think anyone considering a modern 300mm f/2.8 with VR would be well-served by this model.
