Classic!
I first played this game about 3 or 4 months after its release on the SNES. It was hard to believe it was sitting on the clearance shelf at a local store for only $30. Looking back, I wish I had kept it instead of selling it to a used game store for $30 in store credit. Anyway, this game is addicting. I spent a week straight playing this game after I bought it, and even today need to pick up a copy now and then to relive some of the best action on the Super Nintendo. This game is tricky at times, like when Violen is swinging his mace all over the room to smash you into oblivion. It'll try your patience at times, such as when you're trying to shoot down the fish-shaped submarine in the ocean, or when you keep dying while trying to get that heart tank that's just out of reach. But even after all that, this game is pure fun. It starts off with a little blue robot taking on a gigantic, walking death machine that won't even fit on the screen at the end of the intro stage, and reducing it to scrap metal. That pretty well sets the tone for the game. You're taking on legions of reploids/mavericks whose only objective seems to be to cause as much destruction as possible to a little blue robot with an arm cannon. Climbing walls, blowing up a shuttle, smashing things to bits with mechanical armor, hover bikes, this game's got all that and a whole lot more. Plus, at the end, you meet some familiar faces. Mega Man X2 is worth every penny that you pay for it.
