Quick set-up, great home network
I bought AppleTV primarily to stream Netflix and to access the music, photo and video libraries housed on my Apple G5. It's shockingly easy to set up get running on Apple TV — it's as simple as HDMI cable and optical into flat screen tv, and go. I particularly enjoy the iTunes AirPlay feature that allows me to stream music to multiple rooms, and with iPhone's Remote app I can control the system from anywhere in the house. AppleTV also has a screen saver feature so while the music is streaming, our photo library plays in slide show mode on the television screen. I also set up a YouTube channel online and filled it with old super hero cartoons that my kids and I can now watch on the big screen. It's still somewhat limited in terms of the programs available and it hasn't yet replaced Comcast cable for us, but I sense that this is the next step in true content on demand.
