Why on earth some would buy an P4 520 model?
Well, there are many good reasons for buying a several years old processor. Firstly the Intel folk has enough power to run even the latest OSes. But that wasn't the decisive reason to be honest. It was the Socket775 ITX board that supported the specific processor that made me look after it. Was it worth it? Absolutely!
So to conclude, Socket775 boards doesn't support all 775 processors. You need to take a good look at wikipedia in order to be sure that you choose the right processor or board. Also have in mind that those 5 series processors produce a lot of heat, so prepared to buy a decent fan or at least ask for a retail Intel fan (which tends to accumulate dust like hell btw).
