Bought this item thinking for 6 quid it's worth a hit as BMW said the key cannot be opened and once you take the battery off the key will never work again and I must buy a new key (160 plus vat) and then 40 for programming (plus vat).......
So....... item arrived very quickly.... I already had my key open so got home from work and got my soldering iron out and de-soldered the battery off my chip....
Re-soldered the new battery on within 30 seconds (I am used to soldering and fairly confident and have quite a steady hand as I'm a mobile lift engineer so do it quite a bit) placed the key back together and went outside to the car to see if it would work..... first go, nothing... so I thought it well only 6 quid......
Then....
I remembered a video on YouTube on how to reprogramme a BMW key.... so I did this 5 second reprogramme trick and boom!! They key is programmed and working like a brand new One!!..
I really can't recommend this product enough!!
I could kiss you guys as you've saved me a few hundred quid with this absolutely brilliant product!!
Don't get ripped off by main dealers and garages.....
No doubt this is what a main dealer technician would do with your key and charge you through the nose for it....
So to sum it up.......
Absolutely brilliant!!!
