From the heart
I had been searching for this album from the old "Schnozzola", originally released in 1967, and now re-released on CD. Jimmy Durante (1893-1980) was quite probably the most beloved entertainer in American show-business history, and will never be forgotten. His lengthy career spanned vaudeville to television, and lasted almost until he died at the age of eighty-six.
Gospel is not usually associated with Durante, but, on this album, there is no doubt whatsoever regarding his sincerity with this material. He treats it exactly as he did everything else he performed, with energy, high spirits, and poignancy. A personal favorite is "Somebody's Keeping Score".
It would be nice to see all of Durante's later material, since he signed with Warner Brothers in 1963 at the age of seventy, re-released in a box set.

The Fab Four had the tightest quality control in the business, as this final installment of "The Beatles Anthology" demonstrates. It covers, roughly, the period from the White Album sessions to the end of the group, including material that would be released as early solo efforts by Paul McCartney and George Harrison. There's a reason why "What's The New Mary Jane" was never foisted on the public--it's awful. The group respected its audience.
This collection, however, is nevertheless indispensible for Beatlephiles and rock historians alike, as it also reveals the most important group in music at work in the studio during its last phases developing songs we all know and love.

Nice unit
Unit is reasonably priced and works well. Fairly easy to use. Built-in digital tuner. Has HDMI output. Dubbing from DVD to tape and vice-versa.
