Heartwarming, but Docile: Whisper Good but not Great
1 von 2 finden das hilfreich I decided to purchase Whisper of the Heart based solely on its repeatedly being mentioned alongside the great anime writer/producer Hayao Miyazaki. His films are magnificent, so I figured since this one was recommended by Miyazaki fans that it would be just as superb. It was certainly a good film with a solid storyline, well-developed characters, and first-rate animation. I had hoped for a more imaginative bent, though; compared to Spirited Away or Totoro, it felt bland.

Creepy Story Stays on Course
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I saw this movie on cable and had to have it. It is one of the most sinister films I've seen, with its combination of thrills, horror, remorse, and morbidity. It taps into some thing that go on in all families, from typical travel bickering to coming to terms with the past; from wanting the best in life to struggling with regrets. Combine those powerful feelings with real, heart-pounding suspence, and you've got Dead End. The actors are superb but not well-known, which makes the movie feel more authentic. I highly recommend it.
