Geddy Lee Signature Series Fender Jazz review
Hello everyone! So before I get started I wanted to mention that this review is intended for novice players. As the saying goes, "you have to hump a few clunkers before you can fondle a Ferrari." ;) The first thing you will notice on this bass is the neck. It's got a slim neck (great if you have short fingers like I do), the finish is perfect, fretwork is very good, and the binding is very nicely done. The Badass II bridge adds good sustain. It's nice and light with a huge sound. If you like slim necks, this is about the slimmest on the market. Modeled after the neck on Geddy's pawnshop prize, which was shaved down at some point, it has a slimmer neck than anything else Fender offers. This is much slimmer than any of the other Jazz neck. This bass sounds very good, like any good Jazz bass. Great growl from the bridge pickup, and all of the classic Jazz tones are 100% authentic in this model. The look on this bass is also amazing. Old school Jazz Bass logo, block inlays, and black bindings. I've heard a lot of complains about the tunners being cheap, but i've had good experiences with them, keeping their tune very well. You can always upgrade this for very cheap. Hope this helps!
