good western
It's a pretty common horse opera, but the acting, writing and dialogue are really fun. Kirk's just terrific, and thankfully the incredibly horrible title song isn't repeated until the final credits.

Great performances marred by poor editing, voiceovers.
12 von 12 finden das hilfreich The concert footage is terrific, but they don't let Jimi play more than two minutes without a voiceover. By the time I was halfway through the movie, I was ready to strangle things in frustration. Even Machine Gun, the only song they allow to be played through, is split between performance and news footage of Vietnam, like we won't know what the song's about without being told. If anyone ever just runs the concert from start to finish, I'll buy it in a second - lots of it is incandescent, even in black and white - but I'd have skipped this one if I'd known what "live from Filmore East" really meant - broken up snippets of that, Filmore West and even Isle of Wight with voiceovers throughout.
Isle of Wight, titled Blue Wild Angel, is a much more satisfying vid, and features many of the same people interviewed in Filmore, but they're all up front and the concert runs straight through, without voiceovers.

Great machines, great prices, some limitations online.
Okay, first off, PPC machines are at a disadvantage online as Adobe and others don't support the chips anymore. That said, there are workarounds for some issues, and these puppies are really inexpensive, given their performance. PPC Powermac G5s are really stable and oftentimes faster than their Intel competitors. If maxed out online performance isn't an issue so much, these are really great machines for the money.
