A brilliantly capable machine for on-air recording or media tranfer.
5 von 5 finden das hilfreich We left cable some time ago, and operate from an antenna an broadcast programming. Since the shift to digital broadcast, older recorders with analog tuning are useless for capturing broadcast material. This unit, which has a digital tuner, provides this capability. Also, it feeds into the home theater function of my Panasonic TV, and allows splendid stereo sound from broadcast on my Klipsch speakers. I also have quite a collection of Laserdisc films, and this unit allows easy recording from Laserdisc to DVD (as well as VHS tape).
It easily processes DVD recorded media into a format playable n any DVD machine.
I am unable to provide any quibbling criticisms of this unit, as I have so far found NONE.

Works perfectly for my needs.
Easily programmed and used for playback fast-forwarding through commercials, live viewing and operation of other equipment - in my case a laserdisc player. .

Used in photomicrography
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I bought this in order to make photomicrographs with my Olympus BH-2 universal microscope. I had previously used a film camera (Olympus OM-2S), so had that adapter on my instrument. I bought an adapter to fit OM lenses to the Pen E mount. Focus is perfect, and using the A (aperture priority) setting, the camera picks the correct shutter speed for proper exposure.
With this arrangement, focus is matched to visual focus, and pictures are sharp.
The Olympus NFR photo eyepiece I have is 2.5, which fits the 35mm format.
A better fit for the digital camera would be the Olympus NFK 1.67 photo eyepiece, but I have yet to find one at an affordable price. In effect, substituting the digital sensor for the 35mm format is like using a higher magnification for the image.
I do have the zoom lens for conventional photography, and everything seems to be fine. However, as with all screen display digital cameras, it is difficult to see the screen in outdoor light. An optical viewfinder for such use would be an improvement.
