My favorite camera ever!

I have several of this model, in several colors. The best thing in their favor is the fact that the lens doesn't physically extend out from the camera when you power it on, or even when you're using the telephoto or macro setting. By not having to extend the lens out from the body of the camera, the battery lasts longer, and there is also less chance of mechanical failure. I also love the cases; they are not only super nice-looking, but are also extremely sturdy. We use ours many times a week, inside and out. They've gotten knocked around in the bottom of my pocketbook, or in my husband's shirt pocket, for years, and they simply stay looking great. I know that some of the used ones sold on Ebay have multiple scratches, but I think that has to be the exception, since I've never gotten any noticeable scratches on any of mine - either on the case or on the screen, after years of use. By the way, the lens cover tends to stay put and not accidentally open up when you've got it in your purse, or pocket, or whatever. The controls for all options are very easy to find and use; it's very intuitive. The movies are surprisingly very good for this type of camera. You take movies using a button right on top, near the regular shutter, but there is never any chance of confusing the two buttons. The sound on the movies is pretty clear, too. I've taken some wonderful short movies of my family and pets with it. The best part about this facet, of course, is that you are able to take either stills or movies with the same camera. The pictures it takes are dependably good. The best ones, I've found, are family pictures, especially portrait shots; but it also does a really good job of landscapes, flowers, etc. Using the flash has the kinds of problems typical of pocket cameras - if you're too close, things get washed out; if you're too far away, the flashed pics are grainy. As with all things, you need to experiment with it and play with it, to find the best settings for your needs. The pictures are not, of course, the same quality you get from SLR cameras, but for a stylish, lightweight pocket camera, the pictures are usually dependably excellent. I have only one important complaint about this camera. When taking still pictures, there is a lag of almost a second between when you press the shutter and the picture actually gets taken (and it doesn't matter whether you are using the flash or not.) This can mean losing a special action shot with kids or animals or sports. Yes, I have lost some great moments because of it, but altogether the pluses far outweigh this one problem. I would suggest that anyone using this camera (or similar ones) invest a couple of dollars by buying an ADJUSTABLE wrist strap. I bought about six on Ebay for less than $1.50 apiece (when you buy them as a lot.) By being able to adjust the strap, you guarantee that the camera won't just fly off your wrist. I would also suggest buying 2 or 3 spare batteries. We always have one charging so that if the battery runs out, another one is ready. Ebay offers good ones at a good price; so does Meritline.com (Note: when in Movie Mode, it goes through batteries VERY quickly, so it is doubly important to have extra batteries with you.) A 2Gb SD card is adequate; it's very hard to fill up! I tried the next model after this one, and didn't like it at all; I had to return it. To repeat, I really like the Fujifilm Z20fd camera. It is the best pocket camera I've ever owned!

Great flashback to the hippie era!

Wee Tam, in particular, is, for me, the ultimate hippie album. I listened to it often, way back when. The songs just flow with sweet melodies and pleasant lyrics and bring you to a peaceful, happy place. The song "Air" on this album actually inspired me to stop smoking! There is often a "live," in-concert feeling to the music. It sounds much more spontaneous than a studio album, even though the sound quality on the CDs is excellent. The instruments and harmonies are honest, and there is no AM radio "wall of sound." It gives you the feeling of curling your knees up under you while you sit on a cushion, just going with the flow of listening to good friends making groovy music. The Big Huge is a good album, too, although I still like Big Tam better. The best part is being able to play both CDs back-to-back, so you get a nice, long, uninterrupted couple of hours of lovely music. Altogether, I highly recommend this 2-fer to anyone who wants to either re-live the good old days of hippie-dom "peace and love," or anyone younger who wants to taste what the real deal was back then. You can't go wrong with this set!
