1 von 1 finden das hilfreich this is what can happen when channel4 gets hold of tom sharpe and throws some money and decent location filming at it. forget the bbc adaptation of blott on the landscape. this is how it SHOULD be done. absolutely marvellous, bloody nasty and damned funny, just like the book.

from the universally known lazy sunday, to the risque rene (a real dockers delight!) the first half played in reverse order is an absolute pleasure. then you get to the real gem. a story told in stanley unwin's own completely inimitable gibberish about a simpleton (or a man who has taken far too much acid as a kid) who can't work out the phases of the moon and has to hook up with a (equally f**ked up) tramp via a long ride on a huge fly. it makes SOME sense after about the 15th time you listen to it. but not much. all time some time deep joy of the full moon scintilladen dangly in the heavenly bode. but now only half. A REAL CRACKER THAT EVERYONE SHOULD HEAR SOMETIME. there is history as well! type stanley unwin into your search engine type thingy it was all feathery feathery and be surprised by what you find. this man is a class act. please enjoy, as i have, and i hope your turn out is three quarters half as lovely won't you wouldn't half enjoy it. stay cool won't you.

0 von 1 finden das hilfreich i bought this on vinyl when it first came out, and thought i'd enjoy it 24 years on. it brought back memories....not all good. if you are a person of the 80's and had the whale of a time that i had you will-and probably already have-enjoyed this album, but it was of its time and should probably have been left there. a bit too philosophical? listen and make up your own mind.
