Massive step-up from using a cash box & vastly more secure than any cheap digital safes that I've seen.
When you are only storing a few hundred pounds at home it can seem disproportionately expensive to purchase and install a proper insurance rated valuables safe. In general, most people (myself included) have felt reasonably comfortable storing up to a couple of hundred pounds in a cash box and beyond that they might consider the multitude of cheap 'digital keypad' safes to be a reasonable step-up for larger amounts.
Be warned however, many of these cheap digital safes have simple solenoid operated locking mechanisms, which all too often can be easily bumped or jogged open in seconds with a good thump ...just take a look on YouTube. For this reason I'd suggest that a bolted-down cash box would offer better security than most cheap digital safes, however this little key-operated safe presents a considerably more solid item to get into than a cash box and it beats an equivalently-priced digital safe because the lock actually works! I feel confident that this safe's security is backed-up with some credentials; I have seen these same safes described both as home security safes with a cash rating £1,000 or valuables rating £10,000 and also described as 'ammo safes' or 'gun cabinets' built to British Standard BS7558/92. It is important to be realistic about your security expectations from this little safe; the construction is easily lightweight enough for one person to carry away, so it needs to be fixed secure to something solid. However, if you bolt it with good solid fixings to a wall or floor, it should take a pretty determined and 'tooled-up' thief to get to the contents.
The metal finish and powder coating looks of good quality. The door is aligned correctly and operates smoothly. The lock looks very substantial and operates with a reassuringly solid feel and the red felt floor mat is a nice touch. The included fixings would be fine for brick or concrete walls, but make sure you use appropriate fixings for the situation. I had to chemically bond 12mm fixings to get a really solid hold in a thermalite block wall, but if it goes anywhere now, much of the wall will be coming with it.
All in all I am very pleased with my purchase ...for £30 plus my own fixings I no longer feel uneasy about keeping cash and valuables at home. That seems like good value to me.

Perfect for the small triangular draining area between/behind the bowls of my full-sized double corner sink
0 von 1 finden das hilfreich This is my second purchase of these little dish drainers. I have been using one for years and I decided to get another so I can have one in service while the other is being cleaned (overnight in a bath of biological washing powder along with my cooker racks).
I found the design of this particular drainer much more confidence-inspiring than another similar-sized (coated rather than chromed) wire rack that I tired. The other rack had more pronounced and 'deeper' shaping in the middle, making it less forgiving for holding large plates or balancing glasses and mugs. This chrome rack gives a much more level area which seems to accommodate a wide variety of plates, mugs and glasses in a stable manner with ease. All in all I have very happy with this product ...it is a pleasure to live with.
