A Pleasant Surprise From The Metal "Christmas" God
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This is not your typical Halford CD although track 1 could have easily been on JP's Painkiller album or a Fight album. It's nice to hear Rob do Christmas songs that are on the traditional spiritual side. Hearing the Metal God sing "What Child Is This" and "Oh Holy Night" is an odd yet pleasant surprise. It's great that Rob realizes the true meaning of Christmas too. This is not a CD I will listen to all year, but it is one that I will always listen to come Novemberish.

Superb Underrated 1980's American Power Metal
I never heard much about this band in their 1980's heyday. They just kind of slipped under the radar for me. That all changed when Mark Tornillo was a guest on VH1 Classics 'That Metal Show' as the new lead vocalist for Accept. In my opinion Accept's newest album Blood Of The Nations is the best Metal album of at least the last decade. I buy a lot of music and it is that good. So, I had the need to backtrack and check out Mark's former band. The 3 host's of That Metal Show gave honorable mention to TT Quick's Metal of Honor album as a great underrated metal classic. I could not agree with them more. Superb true blue American 1980's Power Metal with Mark Tornillo's powerful vocals and David Dipietro's awesome chunky, riffy and at times speedy guitar work. This album is a must for anybodys Hard Rock / Metal collection. Enjoy my friends.

Big Dogz gives a bite with chunks
This band has been a consistent top 10 favorite of mine since I was 15 years old. Today is my 50th birthday (thank you very much). To say that Big Dogz is comparable to Hair Of The Dog would be misgiving. This release would be more comparable to Close Enough For Rock 'N Roll. I was in fact a little disappointed with this album as I was somewhat expecting the quality of their stellar 2008 release The Newz. But, after all Nazareth has been around since 1968 so I have absolutly nothing to complain about. Dan McCafferty still has the vocal chops to growl his way through the rockers as well as handle the ballads with his signature smokey rasp. There is also a few mid-tempo songs and a couple of duds. I do recommend this album although I would get The Newz first if you haven't done so already.
