Nintendo DS Lite - King of the Handhelds
Overall, the nintendo ds is a truly spectacular system. For any handheld enthusiast, and especially die hard nintendo fans, it is second to none. The game play is innovative and incredibly fun. Some are cynical about the dual screens, but it adds a very interesting and unique game experience. The touch screen is also an amazing addition. It allows for incredibly unique and unparalled gameplay. There are many creative implications of it. Even the casual gamer will enjoy the DS. It is truly a pick up and play system, you don't need to be an expert to know how to work it or have fun with it.

Pokemon Diamond - Another excellent addition!
On the face, this is just another pokemon game. It follows the general pokemon game formula: catch pokemon, train pokemon, battle trainers, battle gym leaders, explore the region, battle the elite four. However, for die hard pokemon fans such as myself, it is truly a superb game. Some may say that the pokemon games are repetitive and all very similar since they follow the general formula just mentioned. However, I feel that this is what makes them so great. Nintendo did something amazingly right and successful with pokemon, so why fix something that isn't broken? And I think many other pokemon fans would agree. Plus, this game really isn't a clone of previous versions. Obviously there are similarities, but new pokemon have been added as well as many other things such as cool items, quests, areas, and optional "quests" such as the pokemon contests and making poffins. I love pokemon so much because it is one of the rare single player games where the best experience doesn't end once you've played through the game. There are so many areas to explore and so many hidden items to find. You also always have the option to "collect 'em all", too! And possibly the funnest aspect is WiFi battling and trading. With the dawn of Nintendo WFC, the muliplayer aspect expanded dramatically and really made these new versions even more desireable. Trading with anyone around the world is just plain exciting! And it also means if you're attempting to catch 'em all, you don't have worry about finding others you live by who also have the game, which can be difficult. Especially since they may not want to trade certain pokemon. In summary, although I feel pokemon has become a bit of a cult-classic and will be most enjoyed by big fans of the series, it is also an incredibly deep and addictive RPG that anyone will greatly enjoy and not want to miss out on!

Perfect Dark (Nintendo 64)
Perfect Dark is easily one of the best and most memerable Nintendo 64 games. In the shooter category, many would consider it second only to 007: Goldeneye. The gameplay is smooth and fluid, with excellent graphics. The single player experience is fun and involving, innovative and just plain cool weapons steal the show here. Althought that is not to say the missions and objectives aren't great, but the game does lose a little bit of pace due to slight repetition. The environments also significantly add to the experience, especially since the expansion pak is required. The expansion pak, which increases the 64's maximum RAM, allows higher resolution graphics and creates great environments. Some early on scenery is plain, but overall this game certainly pushes the Nintendo 64 to its limits. The biggest gripe about the single player are the frustratingly unintelligent computer opponents (AI). Many times the AI can be seen doing absolutely ridiculous things, which dampens the experience. Finally, and possibly the most important aspect of this game, the multiplayer. The multiplayer in Perfect Dark is so superb, it still rivals some of today's best multiplayer games such as Halo and Call of Duty. Again, the innovative and awesome weapons come together with great maps and lots of match customization to create an experience you will always remember. Allowing up to four players, the matches can get quite intense. Especially since adding computer controlled "bots" are always an option - great if you don't have four players and still want a more competitive match. Overall, Perfect Dark is an amazing and unforgettable experience. I strongly reccommend it, as it has something to offer for nearly everyone.
