The Truth
As this was " officially " never released in North America to a physical cartridge, It was available to play on the Genesis if you had Sega TV (online playable games through a rental charge a long long time ago). Unless its the Japan version, You will be getting something pretty new. This is a re-make of the NES version of part 1,2 and 3. The animation in character movement is slightly better, and there is a unique section of the game after you beat all 3 parts that is only for this system. If your a collector of rare stuff & the game is less than $50, box & manual, its worth it. If you are expecting it to be better for nestalga reasons on an improvement over the NES, you could skip it & not worry. There are little things, like they tried to make the music a tiny bit different, so you will recognize all the BGM, but they didn't push it in any way to make it worthy of a Genesis Title. All the levels are set as if you are playing it on HARD, Units that would take 1 or 2 hits take 3-5. One thing really really sticks out. On Megaman II, the quick man stage when you are dodging the light bars, there is a delay on the character moving from side to side that will really make you mad, just make sure you are holding the direction you want to go BEFORE Megaman hits the ground. All in all, its challenging, and pretty ok. If it was common, it could go for $25-$30. As this is a re-production product, there could potentially be many different types from different reproductionests (?) . I was satisfied with mine as the controlls are lag free and the instruction booklet has no folds or writing on it. *** Retron 5 Compatible *** (last update in july 2016)
