Great value
There is not much difference between the 1st and 2nd editions just a couple of super rare species you are not going to see anyway.It's so much better than my old Collins Hermann Heinzel illustrated guide which was by far the best in it's day.I managed to purchase this 1st edition at a really good price and it shall easily fulfill all my bird watching identification needs.

Old fashioned quality pencil rubber
Very happy with my soft Lyra original India compound rubber. They are hard to find these days and are of excellent quality. Highly recommend.

Stuffed with exquisitely ridiculous situations....brilliant Durrell.
The British naturalist Gerald Durrell is best known for his GCE text My Family and Other Animals, but he also wrote a large number of other books,many of them describing his journeys to faraway countries to bring back animals for British zoos.
Three Singles to Adventure takes its title from a set of tickets that Durrell purchased at the start of his adventure, buying passage for himself and two eccentric companions to the tiny dot on the map of Adventure in Guiana,South America (first published in 1954).
A superb read which is funny from start to finish.
