Fabulous sound, fantastic range of inputs, a wonderful amplifier.

It's far better than my existing amplifier, which is a top-range model from a well-respected supplier and cost about the same five years ago. The Cyrus delivers very clean and clear sound, very accurate stereo image, plenty of treble without becoming tiring and plenty of bass without being boomy. It's a real pleasure to sit down and listen to it.
Other virtues :
2) It has 6 analogue and 5 digital inputs. This allows me to connect my existing hi-fi and the TV, disc player, media streamer and computer without having to buy a DAC, which saves lots of money and makes connecting everything together much more simple and convenient.
3) It is small physically. It sits alongside a small new streaming PC and together they occupy the same space as my old amplifier. This avoids serious space problems in the hi-fi cabinet.
4) Cyrus will support the amplifier for ever.
5) You can upgrade the amplifier to the same spec as Cyrus' top model for roughly the price difference between the two machines. With that mid-life upgrade available, I'm sorted for the next ten years or so.
In order to show I'm not a fanboy, I need to state a dislike. Erm, you can't switch it on with the remote control, you have to use the button on the front panel.
Before I bought the Cyrus, I listened to four other amplifiers in its price bracket, the two top recommendations from a hi-fi magazine and two devices recommended by my dealer. The differences between the amps were generally small and I'd have been happy to buy four of the five, but the convenience and cost-saving afforded by the digital inputs made the Cyrus a very clear winner.
