M42/GFX adapter

Great value for the money.
- Why you bought it
I bought the Leica Leitz 35mm f/2.8 Lens to learn the photography in manual focusing, aperture setting and shutter speed adjusting. I mount this lens on my Sony NEX 5N with an adapter. After I set the WB, ISO on the menu and adjust the focus. I am able to adjust the aperture, shutter speed to obtain proper exposure. I examin the RAW file in LightRoom 3.6. The histogram show the exposure were very reasonable. I need to scale down the brightness slightly because I don't have UV filter on the lens.
- What you like most about it
This is a old lens. The exterior shows some wear on the black finish. But it's all mental construction, very solid and sturdy. The focus ring rotates smoothly. The aperture ring click on each stop with little effort. The glass still clean. At the widest aperture I was able to take picture in low light.
- What you dislike about it
It's heavy compared to the kit lens.
- Whether or not you would buy the product again
This lens may be produced more than 20 year ago but still in good shape and function properly. I bought it to see how Leica lens behaves before I decide to switch to Leica digital M series rangefinder camera and lens.
Overall, in manual mode, it's easier to operate this lens than the kit lens. The wider aperture takes good pictures in low light condition. I don't need to turn on the flash most of the time.
