The POG2 is a Vatican assasin warlock (in a good way)
Since the original POG was released, the effects it delivered were considered truly unique and versatile. I've never seen another pedal that packs so many octave variations into one package. The release of the POG2 marks a big improvement over both the original POG and Micro POG for one reason: Presets. I owned the original POG and, while I could get the same great sounds from it (with the exception of the two octaves below), it took some tweaking to find that perfect blend. Therefore I eventually found just one sweet spot that I liked, and left it set in that position. The problem is, the POG and POG2 don't just have one sweet spot -- they have MANY. In order to utilize the full potential of the old POG, you had to spend a good bit of time on the floor fiddling around with the faders. Case in point: Jamie Hince of The Kills used to gig with TWO of the original POGs so he could use a couple different POG effects without having to re-adjust between songs. The original POG was a $300-$400 pedal though, and what musician is gonna buy two of the same pedal at that price? Not me. Thankfully, the POG2 has arrived and I was able to sell my original POG in order to offset the cost of the upgrade. I still had to pay quite a bit for it, but the preset functionality has made it worth every penny. Now I'm not limited to just one octave effect, but I can choose between EIGHT custom presets! NICE! So, even though it's sound capabilities are essentially the same as the previous POG products, the addition of presets on the POG2 makes it feel more like a multi-effect, and less like a one-trick pony.
