Works really well
I bought this to wind the bobbins on my Industrial Highlead walking foot sewing machine to save wear because on those the drive can't be disconnected like on domestic machines.
It accepts the bobbins from my domestic machines and also the larger bobbins from my industrial machine.

The cheapest I could find, but works perfectly and is very well made.
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich I researched laser collimators on the Internet very carefully because of the wide range of prices.
There seemd to be a trend of knocking the "cheapo" ones like this. Plenty of accusations of innacuracy, with non-centred lasers etc., making them useless.
I thought I'd give this one a go though, because it was so incredibly cheap, even though it appeared to be identical to many other brand name models costing up to five times as much.
There was also useful feedback from users stating that it was possible to adjust (collimate) them via the concealed adjusting screws in the barrel.
When mine arrived however, it was spot-on, (as tested in my model aircraft shaft balancing jig !)
It works perfectly straight out of the box, is very well made, and is extremely simple to use, especially with a big Newtonian, like my 10".
I even tested the setting afterwards with my premium cheshire, and it was absolutely spot-on.

Useful with non-industrial machines too.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I use a Pfaff 130 and a Singer 201k.
Both are vintage "domestic" machines, but very heavilly built, and with all-metal gearing.
Many people use them for very heavy duty use, like boat covers, (as I do).
They're not walking foot machines, but the will punch through many layers of heavy/thick material.
My pfaff's only drawback was the motor power, They're originally fitted with 1.2 amp (240v) motors, but mine had only a common 0.45 amp (240v) motor.
I therefore bought this Tyso servo motor to give me more power and slow speed high torque control.
I mounted it on a baseboard that the sewing machine just sits on, and fitted a smaller pulley to match the profile of the pfaff's handwheel. I modified the bracket and operating lever (without cutting or altering anything), so the whole assembly now sits neatly on a table.
The functionality with the pfaff 130 is excellent. It can now do single stitch starts without manually starting the wheel, and will run slow or fast, through any materials.
