Excellent Quality product.
Real Hickory handle is ergonomic and well balanced. The head is quality Carbon Steel with a very sharp cutting edge. The edge has stayed sharp during some pretty heavy use too. The real leather "mask" sheath is sturdy and well made. It looks great too and keeps the weight down. This really is a quality item. The axe head is hand forged, so don't expect ultra smooth machine surface, thats not what this axe is about. The handle will benefit from some protection. I used a very light 400 grit sanding then applied 4 good coats of boiled linseed. Job done. Handle looks and feels great. Only one complaint for me is the lack of sharpening instructions, the card is in Swedish so Google translate will have to do the job there.
All in all a fantastic tool worth every penny. I'd buy one again. If you are looking at gardening, log splitting only there are cheaper options that will do the job. If you want a multi use axe that will be good around camp, in the woods, light felling, heavy carving and general "bushcraft" duties, you will not be disappointed with this axe. By the way it looks so good too, a real rustic axe with character. Has a 2 lb head so could be a bit hefty for multi day hikes etc.
